Kickbike Renegade GR
Requirements - clear. Rider with technical skills, weight low to lowest, price reasonable, technological interest welcome. Result? Unclear.
For the Kickbike RM 28 road frame, we chose a full carbon Columbus fork of appropriate length (382mm) with flatmount mounts. A 160mm disc on GRX anchors is planned. Hm, yeah, a bit more stopping power, it won't be on Dutch pancakes.
Only 140mm at the rear then, just enough and it looks good. The Tufo Flexux Cubus 33 galoshes will provide the braking power. Probably too narrow, but they're tubulars, hopefully they'll take more abuse with less pressure. Solid aluminum rims, 2mm oil slick spokes, ha. And lightweight Bitex bearing hubs.
Ritchey VentureMAX gravel rods fitted with GRX Di levers. We use Di because we don't need the shifting mechanisms. And at least you have fun pushing the buttons while riding. The Lizard Skin wrap is nice and matte, after all, it's probably going to rattle on those cyclocross shoes. 7.8kg of aluminium, carbon, steel, rubber and plastic.
There are other ways to do it, but.... We'll see.
Howgh.
